​In 1900, inventor Raphael Von Ostrejko made the first microporous activated carbon, which is capable of trapping molecules.

Activated carbon as an important adsorption material today for many applications in environmental protection, in the food industry and chemical industry would not exist without the essential studies and work of Raphael von Ostrejko.

All later developments for industrial activated carbon, like in the beginning of the 20th century performed by big companies like the German firms BAYER and DEGUSSA, are based on Mr. Ostrejko's inventions. Without his scientific contributions the development of this special product would have been much slower or even completely different.
